For the first day of class you'll need to read some important background on the course. Then, in class we can establish more about our course as a community of learners. Finally, we will also briefly introduce the course web site and go over few demonstrations before setting up the Linux work environment.

Background and Textbook Reading

Let's get started with an overview of the course and a brief, high-level reading from your textbook. To get work underway, you'll then need to read more about the GNU/Linux system and Emacs text editor we will use.


As a demonstration of some early learning outcomes, we will demonstrate what our Scribbler2 robots can do with the programs scribbler-demo.c and another-robot-demo.c.


Finally, we may review the following example programs.
